Biography
Pyotr Koloskov was born on February 23, 1923 in the village of Nikolskoye (now the Zemetchinsky district of the Penza region ). He graduated from ten classes of the school. In August 1941, Koloskov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . He graduated from the Penza Artillery School. Since February 1942 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. By April 1945, Senior Lieutenant Pyotr Koloskov commanded the battery of the 1015th artillery regiment of the 397th Infantry Division of the 61st Army of the 1st Belorussian Front . He distinguished himself during the battles in Germany [1] .
On April 17, 1945, Koloskov was one of the first in the regiment to cross the Oder in the area of the Hohenvutzen settlement 14 kilometers north of Vritsen and adjusted the fire of his battery on the enemy, destroying the battery of mortars , 3 bunkers , 5 machine guns , near a platoon of enemy soldiers and officers [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 31, 1945, Senior Lieutenant Pyotr Koloskov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal [1] .
After the war, Koloskov continued to serve in the Soviet Army. In 1957, with the rank of lieutenant colonel, he was transferred to the reserve. He lived in Kharkov , worked as a foreman of the local Directorate of Gas Construction [1] . He died on October 23, 2001. He was buried in the Kharkov cemetery No. 14.
He was also awarded the orders of the Red Banner and World War II 1st degree, two orders of World War II 2nd degree, two orders of the Red Star , the Order of Honor , a number of medals [1] .
