Tapinolepis (lat.) - the genus of ants of the subfamily formicina ( Formicinae , Plagiolepidini ). Africa (about 20 species and subspecies) and the Arabian Peninsula (Yemen, UAE, 1 species) [2] [3] .

Description
Small earth ants of brown color. The posterior thorax is rounded without propodeal spines. Antennae long, in females and workers 11-segmented (in males, antennae consist of 12 segments). Stinging workers with 5 teeth. The mandibular palps are 6-segmented, the lower labial palps are composed of 4 segments. Shins of middle and hind legs without apical spurs. The stalk between the breast and the abdomen consists of one segment ( petiol ) [4] .
