Abotheni - in the mythology of the peoples of the Tibeto-Burmese adi group ( Dafla , Miri, Sulung, Apatani, and other peoples of the Himalayan region in the north-east of India), the first person from whose descendants these peoples originate.
Aboteni lived in the Supung area, which was located somewhere in the east of the Himalayas. From the first three wives of Abotheni were born various creatures of earth and sky, from the fourth - Jamir Gimbare - the son of Ablom, ancestor of artisans who created bronze things, including Tibetan bells. Evil spirits robbed Abotheni of his wives. But Abotheni threatened to hit the sun and moon with a bow and destroy the whole world. The spirits then gave him a wife Zukhumane, at her advice Aboteni fled from the spirits with his wife and son. Zukhumane took two bamboo vessels with her: in one turned out to be rice and domestic animals, in the other - the first people. The spirits eventually found the fugitives. To appease the spirits, Aboteni and his descendants had to make regular sacrifices to them.
