Shasta- Trinity National Forest is a national forest in northern California , USA . It is the largest national forest in the state, with an area of 894,287 hectares.

The national forests of Shasta and Trinity were united and began to be managed by a single administration in 1954. The western part of the forest, which before the merger was the Trinity Forest, is located on the eastern slopes of the California coastal ranges and has an area of 422,361.1 ha. The eastern part of the forest (the former Shasta Forest) is located between the Central California Valley and the Shasta Valley. It has an area of 471,926.2 ha. Administratively, the national forest is located on part of the territory of the following districts: Trinity , Shasta , Siskia , Tijama, Modok and Humboldt [1] . Within the forest is Mount Shasta , whose height is 4322 m.
There are more than 460 miles of hiking trails in the forest [2] , including a 154-mile (248 km) stretch of the Pacific Cross trail that crosses the forest in the latitudinal direction.
