Shabanbay bi ( Kaz. Shabanbay bi , until October 23, 1996 - Shylym [1] ) - a village in the Aktogay district of the Karaganda region of Kazakhstan . The administrative center of the Shabanbai aul district. It is located about 32 km east of the district center, the center of Aktogay . The KATO code is 353677100 [2] .

Geography
Located on the Karatal River (left tributary of the Tokrau River).
History
It is believed that the name Shylym (literally from Kazakh - “smoke” or “smoking”) arose after immigrants who began to grow tobacco came here in 1923. Renamed in honor of the famous Kazakh biy - Shabanbai Kalkamanuly.
Population
In 1999, the population of the village was 857 people (436 men and 421 women) [3] . According to the 2009 census , 563 people lived in the village (289 men and 274 women) [3] .
