Biography
Representative of the Polish magnate clan of the Zamoysky coat of arms " Elite ". The second son of the governor of Smolensk, Mikhail Zdislav Zamoysky (c. 1679 - 1735 ), from his first marriage with Anna Dzyalynskaya (d. 1719 ). Brothers - governor of Lubelsk Tomas Anthony and Chancellor the Great Crown Andrzej Jerome Zamoysky .
In 1744, he was elected ambassador to the Sejm from the Helm Land, in 1746, ambassador (deputy) to the Sejm from the Chernihiv Voivodeship , in 1750 - ambassador to the Sejm from the Lubelskie Voivodeship. In 1764 he became a member of the Czartoryski Confederation and ambassador to the convocation congress from the Lubelskie Voivodeship . In the same 1764, he supported the election of Stanislav Augustus Poniatowski to the Polish royal throne.
In 1767, after the death of his childless nephew Clemens Jerzy, Jan Yakub Zamoysky inherited Zamoysky ordination. May 8, 1768 became a holder of the Order of the White Eagle. In 1770 he received the post of governor of Podolsky .
Family
In 1745 he married Ludwik Maria Ponyatovskaya ( 1728 - 1804 ), the daughter of a Kastelian Krakow Stanislav Ponyatovsky ( 1676 - 1762 ) and Constance Chartorysky ( 1696 - 1759 ). Children:
- Ursula Zamoyskaya (1757-1816), 1st husband of the subcommittee Great Crown Vincent Potocki (d. 1825 ), 2nd husband since 1781, Marshal Great Crown Mikhail Jerzy Vandalin Mnishek ( 1748 - 1806 ).
