Biography
Pimen Kolesnikov was born on July 11 (in a new style - July 24 ), 1906 in Nikolaev . In 1921 he moved to the Krasnoyarsk Territory , where he graduated from an incomplete secondary school, after which he worked as an accountant in an agricultural artel and collective farm . In 1930 he moved to Leningrad , where he worked at a confectionery factory. In 1931, Kolesnikov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . In 1933 he graduated from the Leningrad Military Theoretical School of Pilots, in 1934 - the Orenburg Military Aviation School of Pilots and Observer Pilots. Since December 1941 - on the fronts of World War II. He took part in the battles on the Volkhov , Southern , North Caucasian , Transcaucasian , Western , 1st and 2nd Belorussian fronts, was shot down and wounded [1] .
Towards the end of the war, Major Pimen Kolesnikov was a senior navigator of the 199th assault air division of the 4th assault air corps of the 4th Air Army of the 2nd Belorussian Front . During his participation in the war, he made 104 sorties to attack the accumulations of military equipment and manpower of the enemy, inflicting heavy losses [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the USSR of August 18, 1945, for “exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown”, Major Pimen Kolesnikov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal " Under the number 8744 [1] .
After the war, Kolesnikov continued his service in the Soviet Army. In 1949, he graduated from the Higher Flight Tactical Improvement Courses for Officers. In 1957, with the rank of Colonel Kolesnikov, he was transferred to the reserve. He lived in Minsk , worked at the Minsk Computer Plant (now Integral OJSC), then became the head of the mechanization department of the Belpromproject Institute.
Honored Worker of Culture of the Byelorussian SSR (06/26/1984, for his active work in educating workers on the revolutionary, military and labor traditions of the Communist Party and the Soviet people, in preparing young people for service in the Armed Forces of the USSR).
By resolution of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Belarus dated June 28, 1996 No. 414-XIII for active participation in the work of the Belarusian Organization of Veterans of War, Labor, Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies Kolesnikov Pimen Grigorievich was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Belarus .
He died on November 26, 1996, was buried in the Northern cemetery of Minsk [1] .
He was awarded two orders of Lenin, four orders of the Red Banner , orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st and 2nd degrees, the Order of the Red Star , a number of medals [1] .
A street in Minsk was named in honor of Kolesnikov [1] .
