Central ( kaz. Central ) - a village in the Bukhar-Zhyrau district of the Karaganda region of Kazakhstan . The administrative center of the Central rural district. It is located about 17 km north-west of the city of Temirtau , at an altitude of 495 meters above sea level [2] . The KATO code is 354077100 [3] .

Population
In 1999, the population of the village was 1,668 (805 men and 863 women) [4] . According to the 2009 census , 1,428 people lived in the village (700 men and 728 women) [4] .
Economy
The village is located Karaganda Research Institute of Plant Production and Breeding (KNIIRS), formed on the basis of the Karaganda Agricultural Production Association (agricultural experimental station). The institution was created to serve Karlaga (Karaganda State Farm giant OGPU).
