Sports Biography
Claudia Verdicchio Krause started shooting at the age of 13. In 1994, she first took part in the European Championship among juniors and at the debut championship she was able to take 7th place in a high-speed pistol. A year later, in a similar discipline, Krause took already 4th place, losing a little to the bronze medalist. At adult competitions, the German athlete made her debut in 1997. At the 1997 European Championships, Krause took 6th place, and in the World Cup, the best result was 15th place at the stage in Milan .
In 2002, Claudia took part in the world championship in Finnish Lahti . In the high-speed pistol, the German athlete took 33rd place, but Verdicchio Krause did not give a shot at the pneumatic pistol at all, gaining only 362 points, she took 100th place. In 2004, Verdicchio Krause made her debut at the Summer Olympics . In shooting from a pneumatic pistol from 10 meters, Krause took 16th place. To reach the finals, she lacked only 4 points. Claudia took 23rd place in high-speed pistol shooting. In the same year, Claudia was the only time in her career that managed to break into the World Cup finals . At the final stage in Bangkok, Krause was able to break into the finals in the competitions in shooting with a high-speed pistol, where she took 6th place.
2007 was the most successful year in the career of a German athlete. At the European Championships in France, Deauville Krause won gold in pneumatic pistol shooting from 10 meters. In 2008, Claudia Verdicchio Krause took part in the Summer Olympics. Unlike the previous Games, the German athlete performed only in pneumatic pistol shooting. Krause claimed to be in the finals until the very end, but in the end she lacked just one exact hit and she remained in the final 10th place.
At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Krause again took part in two disciplines. The results shown by the athlete were not the most successful. Claudia scored 578 points in the high-speed pistol shooting competition and took 26th place, and in pneumatic pistol shooting from 10 meters, gaining 380 points, Krause took 20th place. In 2013, Claudia performed at major international tournaments only once, taking part in the European Championships in Danish Odense , while not speaking at any of the stages of the World Cup .
