Biography

Boris Yurlov was born on May 31, 1948 in Novokuznetsk .

In 1972 he graduated from the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute (MEPhI) with a degree in experimental nuclear physics. In 1975 he graduated from the graduate school of Moscow Engineering Physics Institute; Candidate of physico-mathematical sciences .

In 1975-1985 he worked at the Physics and Energy Institute in Obninsk . In 1985, he became the head of the department of science and educational institutions of the Kaluga Regional Committee of the CPSU , from where in 1987 he was transferred to work in the Department of Science and Educational Institutions and the Social and Economic Department of the Central Committee of the CPSU . Since 1990, he worked at the USSR State Committee for Science and Technology . Since 1992, he was the head of the Department of the Ministry of Science, Higher School and Technical Policy of the Russian Federation , then - the Ministry of Science and Technical Policy of the Russian Federation . In February 1992, he was included on the board of the Ministry of Science, Higher School and Technical Policy of the Russian Federation.

In 1993, he was appointed head of the Investment Department and deputy chairman of the board and then chairman of the board of the Russian Bank for Reconstruction and Development . In 1994, he headed the ONEXIM Bank Investment Department. In 1996-1998 he was the head of the Investment Projects Department, the director of the Project Finance Department, a member of the board, deputy chairman of the board, and vice president of Russian Credit Bank . In 1998-2000 - Director of the Project Finance Division of the Savings Bank of Russia . In 2000-2002, he was deputy, then first deputy manager of affairs of the President of the Russian Federation for financial and economic issues. From May 2002 to April 2004, he was Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom , dealt with issues of the financial unit. At the time Yurlov left the company, Gazprom had the largest debt burden among Russian companies [1] . From April to June 2004, he served as deputy head of the Federal Atomic Energy Agency .

He died on September 13, 2004.
