Rashaya ( Arabic: راشيا ) is a city in southeast Lebanon , in the province of Bekaa . The administrative center of the homonymous district .

Content
Geography
The city is located in the southeastern part of the province, on the western slopes of the Hermon mountain range, approximately 37 kilometers south-southwest (SSW) from the city of Zahle and 50 kilometers southeast of the country's capital Beirut . The absolute height is 1171 meters above sea level [1] .
Attractions
The city has an 18th-century fortress, now under the control of the Lebanese army . Also in Rashaya are the ruins of a Roman Empire temple. In the vicinity of the city is located the Faqa Forest, which has the status of a protected natural area .
Municipality
The area of the city of the same name of the municipality is 67.52 km² (6752 ha ). On the territory of the municipality there are 4 schools (3 public and one private), as well as 2 hospitals (public and private) [2] .
Lebanon Second War
According to Lebanese media reports, on July 18, 2006, Israeli Air Force aircraft attacked the Church of St. George, located within the city limits. As a result, five people were injured. The road and gas station were also destroyed [3] .
