Story
After the events of Full Frontal Assault , Ratchet and Clank manage to catch one of the most dangerous criminals in the Solan galaxy - Wendra Prog. The Polaris Defense Force instructs the heroes, as well as their friends - Zephyr and Kronk - to escort Wendra to prison on the planet Vartaks for the subsequent serving of the sentence. However, the prison ship is damaged in the asteroid field, and while Ratchet and Clank are repairing it, they are attacked by mercenaries from the Sam-Cebe-Bandit company, headed by Wendra's twin brother Nefthin.
Mercenaries take the ship on board, neutralize Kronk and Zephyr and free Wendra. Ratchet and Clank are trying to stop her from escaping, but Vendra easily stops both with the help of her "magic." The twins leave the ship, blowing it up. Marshmallows and Kronk die, and Ratchet and Clank are thrown into outer space, but they survive by sneaking onto one of the mercenary ships and hiding in the supply crate.
The ship sheds cargo along with the heroes on the planet Yerek in the little-studied sector of Zarkov. The ratchet is suppressed by the death of friends, but Clank convinces him to finish the job - to arrest the twins and make them answer for everything. Ratchet contacts Talvin and informs her about the situation, which she asks the heroes to take care of herself - after all, after the death of Kronk and Zephyr, she had no relatives left except Clank and Ratchet.
While exploring Yerek, the heroes stumble upon Pollix, a terachnoid scientist kidnapped by twins during the events of Before the Nexus . Pollix tells the heroes that Progas abducted him for research on the "Universe" - a parallel dimension, from where the twins themselves allegedly came from. While exploring Yerek, the heroes stumble upon twins who use a device remotely resembling Measurement to break a gap between the worlds and connect with their mysterious ally from the Universe - "Mr. Eye." Ratchet realizes that Vendra wants to let the Eye into their world, but accidentally gives out his presence. Wendra sets on the heroes of "Trivia" - hostile demons from the Void Universe, from which Ratchet and Clank manage to escape with the help of Captain Quark who has come to the rescue.
The heroes arrive on the planet Sylox, where the Progs are going to use their device to open a more stable portal to the Universe. Ratchet challenges Neftin and defeats him, after which he tries to dissuade Wendra. But she ignores the request of the Lombaks and opens the rift through which the Eye personally appears in their dimension. It turns out that the Eye had long wanted to invade this world and conquer it, and Vendra was only his pawn, necessary to open the rift on her part. The eye drags the shocked Vendra into the Universe, and Ratchet and Clank have to flee, which they succeed with not without Nefthin's help.
Teleporting to the planet Tram, Ratchet enters the secret refuge of Nefthin, who asks the heroes for help in saving his sister from Trivia. Ratchet puts forward a counter condition: when everything is over, Nefthin will have to surrender to the authorities and answer for his crimes, including for the murder of Kronk and Zephyr. Nefthin agrees to this and puts forward a plan to save Vendra: while he, Quark and Pollix are finalizing their Measurement on the necessary settings in order to throw Trivia back into their world, Ratchet and Clank must penetrate the Galactic Museum of Natural History on the planet Igliak, where the original Measurement is stored, and steal it. To do this, Nefthin gives the heroes a helping hand stolen bot-guide.
Ratchet and Clank infiltrate the museum and, bypassing all defense systems, they mine the Measuring Instrument, while Igliak is attacked by Trivia with the Eye in their chapter. Nefthin, with the help of the Measuring Instrument, sends Clank to the Void Universe to search for Vendra, while Ratchet distracts the Eye and engages with him. Soon, Clank manages to rescue Wendra, and she joins the fight. Nefthin opens the rift where Vendra pushes the Eye and other trifles with his forces. After the battle, Nefthin grabs the exhausted sister and leads her to surrender to the forces of law and order. When she asked if they would remain villains even in prison, Nefthin irritatedly refused.
In the epilogue, Ratchet and Clank, weary after the final battle, talk in the museum. Clank asks Ratchet if he would go looking for surviving Lombaks if the Meter were operational. To this, Ratchet admits to him that his life belongs to this world, and he does not need more (he also hints at his romance with Talvin). The ratchet leaves, and after him, a little later, Clank leaves, taking the Measuring Instrument with him.
In the scene after the credits, one of the exhibits in the museum is dedicated to Zephyr and Kronk, whom they also admire, becoming ghosts after death. After joking over Zephyr, Kronk suggests that they both go to the robocity “on a date with robobamochki”.
Gameplay
The gameplay is similar to the previous games in the series, but also allows you to control the Ratchet in outer space without gravity. [6] The game introduces new weapons and gadgets, as well as a new system for its development, which is a modified system from Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction . Also introduced are new Clank minigames based on gravity control.
In addition, the game communicates with the Ratchet & Clank: Before the Nexus mobile application, available on Android - through the PlayStation Network service, you can send the resources extracted in the application to the game to facilitate the passage of the plot.
