History

In the late 1990s, the Pavlovsky Bus Plant faced the need for restructuring production to produce a wide range of buses of different classes. It was then that a new middle-class bus PAZ-4230 Aurora was developed. The new Pavlovsk bus attracted widespread media attention and received many awards at exhibitions [3] [4] .

Since 2000, the PAZ began to establish production for the release of the PAZ-4230 Avrora bus. Then PAZ was merged with the management company RusPromAvto. In 2001, the Pavlovsk Automobile Plant began mass production of this bus [5] .

In 2001, the Kurgan Bus Plant joined the Russian Buses - GAZ Group company. In 2002, it was decided to transfer the production of PAZ-4230 Aurora to the Kurgan Bus Plant. In 2003, KavZe organized the serial production of the PAZ-4230 Avrora bus.

At the Pavlovsky bus plant, it was decided to develop an elongated modification of this bus, which was designed to work on city, suburban and intercity routes on the shoulder up to 500 km, which initially received the PAZ-4238 "Aurora" index [1] The main difference from its progenitor was that he had a longer wheelbase . This allowed increasing the number of seats for passengers to 37. Also, this bus was equipped with a Cummins B 180 six-cylinder diesel engine. In addition, depending on the modification, KAMAZ-141, Tsanradfabrik S6-85 gearboxes or an automatic hydromechanical gearbox were installed there. Allisson 2000 " [6]

In 2010, the school bus of the Kurgan Bus Plant was awarded the sign "100 best goods of Russia" [8] .

In 2012, the KAVZ-4238 bus operating on compressed natural gas began to be developed at the Kurgan Bus Plant. It should be equipped with a gas engine complying with the Euro 5 environmental standard. In 2013, a prototype of this bus was manufactured and certified. [7]
