Story

The film tells about an international space expedition to the sixth satellite of Jupiter, which is equipped with a private corporation. The purpose of the flight is to land on the surface of Europe, where, according to some scientists, there is a possibility of life. The film is a mounted video of the crew, which was obtained after his death, with comments by project managers.

When approaching Europe, due to a solar storm, the crew loses touch with the Earth - the communication module fails. When going out into outer space, James Corrigan dies to save the wounded colleague Andrei Blok to fix the malfunction.

Arriving in Europe covered with ice, the crew lowers a reconnaissance probe into the icy ocean through a pre-drilled well to take water samples, however, for some unknown reason, the probe ceases to respond to signals, having previously recorded a strange flash of light. Andrei also sees another moving flash through the porthole, but they do not believe him because of his slight imbalance.

To collect water samples, Katya Petrovna comes to the surface, who manages to send a signal with the analysis of samples to the ship, and the simplest unicellular organism is found in the water, thereby confirming the hypothesis of the possibility of life in Europe. However, not having time to return to the ship, Katya notices lights of unknown origin under the ice, after which the ice is cracking under it and she begins to quickly go under water and dies.

The remaining four astronauts try to take off from the satellite’s surface, however, when taking off, one of the engines fails, and the ship again falls to the same place, and then begins to slowly sink under the ice. The captain of the ship perishes during landing; Daniel, who went out to fix the devices, disappears. Andrei suggests that Roza turn off life support in order to be able to transfer all received data to Earth, but leave hope for a return. Rose agrees. Andrei mends a connection, he, who was outside, is surrounded by ice lights, and he perishes. Rosa transfers all data and video recordings to the Earth and opens the gateways with the live cameras turned on, in order to see in the last seconds of her life how the ship is filled with water, through which a giant luminous creature with tentacles breaks through.
