Description
The river basin is located within the forest-steppe zone. The river flows through the territory of Vinnitsa region. The length of the river. Rusava - 81 km, catchment area - 979 km², basin afforestation - 10.6%, bogging - 0.45%, plowing - 69%.
The point of the earth's surface with a mark of 300 m abs., Located 3 km north of the village of Yarovoye, Shargorodsky district, Vinnitsa region , is taken as the source of the river.
The river has 3 tributaries with a length of more than 10 km, the total length of which is 104 km. The density coefficient of the river network (excluding rivers with a length of less than 10 km) is 0.19 km / km².
The fall of the river is 252 m, the weighted average slope is 2.3 m / km.
The river flow rate is 52.3 million m³, the drain of dry years with 75 and 95% coverage is 39.7 and 27.7 million m³, respectively.
Own river flow is poorly regulated. The total number of ponds and reservoirs that regulate local runoff, as of 01.01.1990, is 65, and their total volume is 5.0 million m³.
The water of the river belongs to the hydrocarbonate-calcium class, its hardness is 4.9 mEq / l, and the total salinity is 300 mg / l.
According to its regime, the Rusava River belongs to the Eastern European type. The river feeds mainly snow and rain. Its mode is characterized by severe floods and a steady low-water period. The hydrological knowledge of the river regime as a whole is not entirely satisfactory. In sec. Rusava was a point of hydrometric observations, which was located at a distance of 7.9 km from the mouth of the river and controlled the catchment area of 971 square kilometers. The post was opened on October 1, 1932 and closed on August 31, 1953. From the moment the post was closed until today, systematic observations of the hydrological situation on the river are not carried out.
