Biography
Parents Hande Bozatly come from the city of Batumi (Georgia) and Odessa (Ukraine). Primary and secondary education received in the city of Ankara (Turkey).
In 1978–1984 she studied at the Medical Institute of the Aegean University in Izmir (Turkey), the third largest city on the Aegean coast.
In 1984-1986 - a doctor in the medical center of the city of Artvin (east Turkey). At that time, Hande Bozatly was the first female doctor in the city.
In 1986-1988 he was a family planning specialist in the Ministry of Health of Turkey. For two years, she visited various regions of Turkey, checking the progress of the implementation of UN family planning programs.
In 1988-1991 she graduated from the residency at the medical school of the University of Ondokuz (Samsun)
In 1991-1994 - Medical Director of the pharmaceutical campaign "Abdi Ibrahim" (Istanbul)
In 1994, she opened her private clinic in Istanbul.
In addition to her professional activity, she was confidently engaged in and engaged in problems of society. According to her, “I felt the need to make a greater contribution to the development of society and fulfill my social duty.” As a result, she joined the political processes in one of the oldest and most multiethnic cities in Europe - Istanbul.
In 2009 - Vice-President of the Special Local Council of the City of Istanbul, President of the EU Relations Committee and International Relations.
Since 2009 - Member of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.
In 2010 - Chairman of the Committee on Culture, Education, Youth and International Cooperation of the Assembly of European Regions. Working on the committee, she was closely associated with youth councils and was directly involved in youth issues in Europe, including unemployment, and the problems of children who did not complete school.
Since May 2013 - President of the Association of European Regions. Among the priorities of Hande Bozatly’s activities is the improvement of the dialogue between regions across Europe and beyond its borders. The AEP Chairman believes that the regions are the main participants in the implementation of open and effective public policy. Also among its priority areas of activity is the restoration of Europeans' confidence, especially of young people, in public actions.
