Pentawards is an international packaging design competition. In addition to rewarding the outstanding world packaging designed and released this year, the mission of the competition is to promote quality design among manufacturing companies, the media and society as a whole. The founders of the competition are Jean J. Evrard and Bridget Evrard.

Categories and Awards
All works are divided into two large groups:
- Pentawards Classic - designed and launched projects. The group includes the following categories: drinks, food, body products, other goods market, luxury goods, miscellaneous (in each category there are subcategories) environmental concept
- Pentawards Concept - packaging design concepts (projects not put into production that have a bright idea, innovative design or form). Categories in the group - drinks, food, body products, other goods market, luxury goods, environmental concept (without additional subcategories)
Winners will receive Pentawards bronze, silver, gold, platinum, and diamond awards. Prizes to the winners of gold, platinum and diamond Pentawards are made in the form of metal disks with a diameter of 16.5 cm designed by American artist Christian Heckscher - the last, awarded to one contestant every year, is decorated with a 1- carat diamond [1] .
Jury
The jury consists of 13 world famous people from the world of packaging. These are both designers and art directors from design agencies, as well as their customers or company representatives. The chairman of the jury is Gerard Caron, founder of Noir Carré agency.

- 2009 - Kimberly-Clark (USA) for Kleenex napkin packaging [3]
- 2010 - ADK (Japan) for the Hoyu 3210 hair care product packaging collection [4]
- 2011 - NINE (Sweden) for Ramlösa mineral water bottles [5]
- 2012 - Turner Duckworth (London-San Francisco) for a can for Diet Coca-Cola [6]
- 2013 - Family Business (Sweden) for the design of 4 million Absolut Unique vodka bottles [7]
Russian winners
The competition is included in the list of contests and festivals that are taken into account when creating the creativity rating of the Association of Communication Agencies of Russia (AKAR) [8] .
- 2009 - Kian Brand Agency - Gold Pentaward for packaging for Yarmarka Platinum, Darkdesigngroup - Silver Pentaward for packaging for body care products, Fastway - Silver Pentaward for packaging for Gauss bulbs [3]
- 2010 - “Your opinion” - gold Pentaward for a bottle for Doctor Diesel Sexy Lime beer, Getbrand - silver Pentaward for packaging Gorilla energetics, Darkdesigngroup - silver Pentaward for a collection of Triol paint cans and bronze Pentaward for packaging Agrostan pasta, Uniqa Creative Engineering for the design of packaging for dairy products [9] .
- 2011 - six Russian laureates, including R2H - a gold Pentaward for packing Seryab mineral water, Depot WPF - a silver Pentaward for a series of packages for Mlk organic dairy products and four bronze awards [10]
- 2012 - Anna Moiseenko, Lyubov Maslennikova, Natalya Kuchumova and Pavel Chuikina - bronze Pentaward for the Detergent Cleanjet men's laundry detergent concept [11]
- 2013 - 16 Russian laureates, including Pentawards Classic Depot WPF - Gold Pentaward for the High-High project for Minskoblprodukt and two silver Pentawards; Plenum Agency - Silver Pentaward for packing Big Kitchen mayonnaise; Mildberry Agency - Silver Pentaward for the New World series of light packaging; and five more bronze awards [12]
Ukrainian winners
2013 - Graphic Design Studio by Jyrk Hutsulyak received the bronze Pentaward for the design of the limited edition beer series Velkopopovitsky Kozel [13] .
