The source of the river is west of the village of Prokofievo, 24 km northeast of Soligalich . The river flows through the forest to the south and south-west, in the middle reaches near the river villages of Galibino and Kolosovo. The largest tributary is the Kamenka (left). It flows into Kostroma opposite the village of Burdukovo .
