Biography
James was born in Brooklyn , on the same street as the rapper of The Notorious BIG. James wanted to hang out with BIG, but he drove him away with the words "you are still too small to hang out with adult men." However, later (in 1994) Notorious heard how well he reads rap Cease, and included him in his hip-hop team Junior MAFIA
In 1995, Cease showed his capabilities on Junior MAFIA's debut album, Conspiracy . It was this album that helped Cease become a real star. In 1996, Cease recorded four tracks for a comedy called “ How To Be A Player ”, and also, along with famous rapper Lil 'Kim , recorded a super hit called Crush On You . In 2001, Cease entered into a severe depression, because of this, he showed signs of alcoholism and even drug addiction. However, in 2008, Cease returned to the studio again in order to record a new album. This album Everything Is Hard Vol.1 was released in March 2010 and immediately debuted as No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart .
Two years later, Cease released another album called Everything Is Hard Vol.2 . The album repeated the success of its predecessor, and was also awarded the Grammy Award in the nomination “Best Rap Album”.
