Biography

Born in the village of Khayyrakan in the Dzun-Khemchik district of the Tuva Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic . In 1986 he was enrolled in the Krasnoyarsk school of higher sportsmanship in the group of Dmitry Mindiashvili . He performed in the weight category up to 52 kg. In 1984, he won the championship of Russia among young men, in 1989 - the youth championship of Europe. Since 1990 - an athlete-instructor of the State Committee of the Republic of Tuva on physical education , sports and tourism.

In 1995, Chechen-ool Mongush became the champion of Russia in the weight up to 52 kg and became the bronze medalist of the World Cup , in 1996 and 1999 he was the bronze medalist of the Russian championship. He participated in the 1996 Olympics , but lost the fight for 3rd place and became only fourth. In 2000, he was recognized as the best athlete of Tuva of the XX century. After completing his sports career, he became a freestyle wrestling coach at the Kyzyl sports school. He was awarded the Tuva and the Russian Olympic Committee.

On June 9, 2013, after judging the Tuvan national wrestling tournament, the Kuresh Chechen-ool Mongush disappeared. On June 18, his body with signs of violent death was found in a forest 30 km from Kyzyl.
