History
Legend has it that the family comes from Padua . Coming from the Albino Moro family, he was one of the founders of Venice in 424 .
The family was in the ranks of the first builders of buildings in Venice in 724 . Since 982, she already had influence in the city. Having been expelled from the Grand Council due to its closure in 1297 , the family entered there in 1388 thanks to the efforts of Francesco Moreau, coming from Negropont .
The family reached the greatest significance at the end of the 15th century with the election of Doge Cristoforo Moro ( 1462 - 1471 ) [1] .
From the sixteenth century, Moreau began to lose its political significance, still continuing to give light to cultural figures.
Then, the name Moro transformed into Moro-Lin (or Morolin) after the marriage of Gasparo Moro to Isabella Lin in 1748 .
