Dakar Square ( azerb. Dakar meydanı ) is one of the squares of the capital of Azerbaijan , the city of Baku . It is located at the intersection of Rustam Rustamov Street and Kara Karaev Avenue, near the Neftchilar metro station [1] . The square is named after the capital of Senegal, Dakar - the twin city of Baku [2] . Back in 1967, Baku and Dakar became twin cities. In September 1987, as part of a program dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the capital of Senegal [3] , a delegation of the Municipality of Dakar was also in Baku, who also visited Dakar Square [2] .
