During his studies, I. Sheremet worked as a watchman and fireman , as a journalist collaborated with the radio editions of the Sverdlovsk State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company and the Sakhalin State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company , with the newspaper UPI “ For Industrial Personnel ”. In 1991 he worked on the Studio City radio ( Sverdlovsk ). At the beginning of his career, according to Sheremet, his professional guides were the early style of publication in the Kommersant newspaper, as well as figures from Russian television Leonid Parfyonov (the television program “ The Day Before ”) and Alexander Nevzorov (the television program “ 600 Seconds ”). During his studies, Sheremet lived in the same room as the hostel of the university with the future head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Sverdlovsk Region ^[2] .

On television since 1992 . On January 2, 1992, I. Sheremet created and headed the information service of Channel Four , the first private television channel in Yekaterinburg . He appeared on the air as an author, reporter, and presenter of the Tik-Tak news program ^[3] .

Initially, the weekly 15-minute news ticker Tik-Tak became a daily 25-minute program. Despite this, due to disagreements with the leadership of the channel in July 1994, Sheremet quit, and on September 1 of that year, the first issue of the news 9 ½ (Nine and a Half), produced by his own production, was broadcast on the Yekaterinburg television channel ASV . - Innokenty Sheremet’s studio “ TAU - Television Agency of the Urals ”, whose general director I. Sheremet has always been. The news “Nine and a Half” got its name from the airing time - at 21:30. According to Sheremet, this was the best time to release regional news, following the federal news broadcasts. The distinguishing features of the program was the choice of topics for subjects, or rather the absence of any restrictions in this choice, with the exception of topics not related to the Urals . At DIA, Sheremet during the 1995 election campaign to the State Duma, on air, insulted one of the candidates, entrepreneur A.E. Bikov . The history of this conflict was as follows. Sheremet on air put the surname of the candidate for feminine, to which he received a letter from his election headquarters with a request to make an official apology ^[4] . The answer was a new rude speech by Sheremet against Bikov ^[4] . After that, Bikov’s headquarters turned to the media leaders of Yekaterinburg, which caused a new rude performance by Sheremet on the air ^[4] . In his speech, Sheremet assigned Bikov to the group of “near-political animals,” about which “the Urals Television Agency will wipe their feet and mix with shit” ^{[5] [6]} . The TV presenter’s performances were subjected to two expert examinations (psychological and philological), which showed that in a desire to insult and humiliate a person, Sheremet demonstrated a wide range of means: abuse, threatening to ruin a career (promise that TAU ​​will be able to make sure that “the character will not be taken even with technical skills in ZhEK "), accusations, emphasizing the squalor and inferiority of the candidate, obviously illiterate words to express neglect (" all kinds of ridiculous candidates "," surname "," their candidate "), compared the candidate with voted, and also suggested in his hermaphroditism ^[7] . According to the expert, Sheremet masterfully used almost all possible means of the Russian language to insult and humiliate a person ^[8] . From a legal point of view, according to researchers A. A. Uvarov and A. V. Kirpichnikova, Sheremet’s statements became a typical example of a journalist’s violation of both the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the federal law “On Mass Media” ^[5] .

In 1997, Sheremet’s program switched from DIA to Channel 10 of the Guberniya television company, where it was provided with much more airtime ^[9] . This allowed the release of the so-called special projects - documentaries on sports topics, including the establishment of world records, extreme travel and mountain climbing, the famous criminals of the Urals, stories about art events and performances . Among them are "Extreme Tower", "Autumn Convertible", "Selenga - Dixon - Yekaterinburg", "Mountain of Bolvans". For example, the theme of the death of nine tourists on the Dyatlov Pass in 1959 formed the basis of several TAU films ^{[10] [11]} . For the special project "Extreme Tower" in 1999, the Ural Television Agency received the TEFI award .

Information war with the administration of Yekaterinburg

In 1995-2005, there was an " information war " between the administration of Yekaterinburg, led by Arkady Chernetsky , and the team of the governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Eduard Rossel . Each side had at its disposal television channels that illuminated its point of view ^[12] . In this confrontation, the Innokenty Sheremet program supported the regional authorities and actively criticized the administration of Yekaterinburg. The latter responded with lawsuits. For example, in 2004, the court ordered Innokenty Sheremet and OTV to broadcast the 9 ½ program to refute statements addressed to Arkady Chernetsky and compensate the head of Yekaterinburg for moral harm ^[13] . In addition, Chernetsky wrote statements to law enforcement agencies asking him to institute criminal proceedings against Sheremet for defamation and insult , but the prosecutor's office refused to do so ^[13] . During this period, the Innocent Sheremet program was very popular. Since 1999, she began to go on another channel - owned by the authorities of the OTV region ^[14] . Innokenty Sheremet and TAU journalist Vladislav Nekrasov became the prototypes of the heroes of the mystery of the mystery of the Third Capital, Sheremekh and Nikrasov. This novel, signed by the pseudonym P. Lotinkin, was published in more than 100,000 copies and got free in the mailboxes of Yekaterinburg during the 2003 election campaign of the governor of the Sverdlovsk region .

In 2005, the confrontation between the teams of Rossel and Chernetskiy ended. Both the governor and the mayor joined United Russia . In August 2005, Rossel received an honorary citizen of Yekaterinburg, and in 2008 (for the first time since 1995) a pro-governor candidate was not nominated against Chernetskiy for the mayor of Yekaterinburg ^[15] .

After the end of the information war, Sheremet stopped harshly criticizing Chernetskiy. And in 2016, Sheremet spoke extremely positively about the former mayor of Yekaterinburg, saying that he was not going to “compete with this wonderful person, let alone disturb him” in the elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Sverdlovsk Region ^[16] .

Since 2010

After the end of the information war, a reduction in the broadcasting of the Sheremet program began. Since 2010, the leadership of Channel 10 has not renewed the agreement with TAU, and Sheremet’s program has remained only with OTV ^[9] . In the 2010s, shooting of special projects practically stopped ^[9] .

With the lack of airtime, Sheremet’s program has been actively advanced on the Internet. Since 2010, the new TAU website has been operating ^[9] . In 2010, news items from the Nine and a Half news feed began to be uploaded daily to their own TAUEKB channel on the YouTube video portal. In the first five years of its existence, this channel has gathered more than 100,000 subscribers and more than 250 million views. ^[17] . However, by 2015, this progress was slowed down due to blockages from the portal. In response, Innokenty Sheremet accused Google of subordinating the interests of the "pedophile lobby", saying: "I tell you for sure: pedophiles formed their own lobby in Google" ^[18] . In January 2017, Sheremet confirmed the fact of blocking, saying that on YouTube the entire TAU channel is blocked several times a year for 2 to 3 weeks ^[1] .

As of 2016, Innokenty Sheremet is the director of Nine and a half - 9 1/2, LLC ^[19] , which produces the television show of the same name. The modern slogan of the 9 ½ program is: “The toughest and most fun regional television news in Russia, and maybe even in the world.” A 60-minute program is broadcast on OTV Channel on weekdays (1 time on Monday, three times a day on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) and once on Saturday ^[20] . Thus, its total duration is 14 hours per week.

Serious informational support to Sheremet and TAU was received by the City Without Drugs fund that appeared in Yekaterinburg in 1999 and its head Yevgeny Roizman , who later became a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the head of Yekaterinburg. Roizman himself wrote that in 1999 he was brought to Sheremet by the journalist of TAU Kasia Popova ^[2] . Sheremet’s program endorsed fund staff methods such as handcuffing drug addicts ^[21] . In 2003, a special project was filmed on the activities of the TAU foundation in 4 films “Narcotics” ^[9] . The fame created by the program of Sheremet Roizman allowed him to first become a deputy of the State Duma, and then in 2013 to win the election of the head of Yekaterinburg.

Support from the Sheremet program of the City Without Drugs program actually continued even after Roizman joined the opposition to United Russia. In 2011, TAU organized the project “Tea at TAU” in Yekaterinburg - several open events, to which Roizman himself and his associate Yevgeny Malenkin were invited as speakers, with Sheremet and his subordinates being leading ^[22] . As of 2016, the TAU website says: “TAU’s friendship with the Fund continues to this day” ^[9] . This friendship is expressed in various forms. For example, in 2014, Sheremet personally attended a court hearing on the selection of a preventive measure against comrade-in-arms of Roizman Malenkin, where he praised the defendant very much ^[21] , calling him a “people's hero”, and asked him to be released from custody pending a court verdict ^[23] . In 2012, Sheremet received from the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation a request for TAU videos to address the issue of instituting criminal proceedings against Yevgeny Roizman ^[24] . Sheremet immediately notified the public of this request by publishing the text of the request on a social network ^[24] .

The sympathy between Roizman and Sheremet is mutual. In a book published in 2014, E. Roizman reports: “All these years, in the most difficult situations, he has always been with us. Not cunning, not cunning, not driving away. He was just one of us. We did our part, he did his. We did a common thing. We respect Sheremet. We respect Vlad Nekrasov and all the guys and girls. Innokenty Sheremet's news television program until 2012 had a number of features. She specialized in crime news, using black humor ^[25] . To attract the viewer, a shocking video series of “Chernukha” (murders, blood, corpses) was demonstrated, often accompanied by irony from the reporter regarding a particular plot ^[27] . In other media, she was described as a “news show,” in which there are many tough scenes and specific black humor ” ^[28] . The general director of the OTV channel, on which she went out, noted that this was “specific news” that was “built on estimates” ^[29] . The news stories were not only violent crimes. For example, in 2004 Sheremet regularly showed the heads of those enterprises of the Sverdlovsk region in which there were wage arrears ^[30] .

However, in the 2010s, Sheremet’s television broadcasts began to undergo some kind of censorship from the OTV channel on which it appeared. The removal of materials from the air was facilitated by the fact that Sheremet could not put them on the air of the channel at his discretion. Each material was watched by representatives of the OTV channel, who might not have missed it. This fact was confirmed in 2012 by the general director of OTV Anton Stulikov, who said that the channel buys Sheremet’s materials and can dispose of them at its discretion ^[25] . At the same time, Stulikov said that “If these materials are not true, we can remove them from the air. And over the past two years this has happened more than once ” ^[25] . The impetus for the change in the content of the telecast was the entry into force on November 1, 2012 of the law on the protection of children from harmful information. The OTV channel management received a message from the regional department of Roskomnadzor about the need to postpone the Sheremet TV program at 23:00 ^[31] . Sheremet opposed such a transfer, since in this case other media will be able to inform the public about the events before it ^[31] . This debate ended with the telecast continuing to go out at 21:30, but Sheremet had to make a promise to change its content ^[32] . Another limitation is related to coverage of the City Without Drugs foundation. In May 2013, Yevgeny Roizman stated that right after the Sverdlovsk region was headed by Yevgeny Kuyvashev (this happened in 2012) to Sheremet, “the governor’s administration announced the most severe ban on mentioning the Fund and publishing stock video materials” ^[33] .

In addition, the content of the Sheremet program is influenced by the need to take into account the interests of the authorities of the Sverdlovsk region, which owns the OTV channel. Sheremet in 2012 confirmed this, noting "In this matter, I have to accept the rules of the game" ^[25] . Moreover, after 2012, the practice of preliminary study and, in some cases, of not broadcasting the materials of the Sheremet program from the OTV TV channel, continued. For example, in 2014, the legal service of the TV channel did not miss Sheremet’s story about Yulia Lipnitskaya, who was born in Yekaterinburg for using the personnel of federal television companies with Olympic symbols in it ^[34] . However, these cases did not prevent Sheremet from declaring in January 2017 that no one was broadcasting his reports in Yekaterinburg and assuring that there was freedom of speech in Russia and the Sverdlovsk Region ^[1] .

In April 1996, Innokenty Sheremet was elected as a deputy of the House of Representatives of the Legislative Assembly of the Sverdlovsk Region and a deputy of the City Council of Yekaterinburg from the Verkh-Isetsky constituency No. 4. In the Yekaterinburg City Council, Sheremet almost immediately entered the Permanent Commission on Urban Affairs and Municipal Property ^[35] .

In April 1998, I. Sheremet again ran for the House of Representatives of the Legislative Assembly of the Sverdlovsk Region, but withdrew his candidacy a few days before the elections in protest against dirty election technologies. In his interviews I. Sheremet repeatedly admitted that he did not regret the completion of his deputy career, since he was completely disappointed in the deputy.

In the spring of 2016, Sheremet took part in the primaries of “United Russia” in the Legislative Assembly of the Sverdlovsk Region in single-mandate constituency No. 7 (Zheleznodorozhny District of Yekaterinburg ), according to the results of which he took third place ^[36] . After summarizing the results of the vote, Sheremet criticized the debates held at the primaries, calling them “distilled” and noting that “they openly bored” ^[37] . After that, Sheremet was put on the second place in the list of candidates from United Russia to the Legislative Assembly of the Railway Territorial Electoral Group ^[38] .

In 2018, Sheremet participated in the primaries of “United Russia” before the elections to the Yekaterinburg City Duma and, according to a vote on June 3, 2018, won second place in Territorial Group No. 5 of the Zheleznodorozhny District ^[39] .

Innocent Sheremet supports the policy of V.V. Putin . In 2012, when the host began friction with the OTV channel (it was about postponing the broadcast time of the 9 ½ program), Sheremet said: “I think that they have been cracking down on me for my uncompromising support for Putin’s course over the past 13 years” ^{[40 ]} . In 2016, on the 17th anniversary of Putin’s appointment as acting president of Russia, Sheremet took part in the Ural for Putin campaign ^[41] . During the election campaign, he even campaigned for schoolchildren (during a meeting with young journalists on July 29, 2016) in a manner reminiscent of a theatrical performance: Sheremet called the Buddhists slave owners and suggested that war could begin on the first day of the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro ^[42] .In 2016, both during the election campaign and after it, Innocent Sheremet personally went to the raids of "United Russia" at the outlets in Yekaterinburg: they searched for spoiled products ^[43] , as well as facts of illegal sale of alcohol-containing products ^{[44] [45] [46 ] ]} .

Sheremet has a negative attitude to the activities of Alexei Navalny and called the disgraced politician a provocateur ^[47] . Sheremet approved the actions of the police who detained his son Fedor in protests against the pension reform organized by Navalny’s supporters in Yekaterinburg ^[47] .
