Winged winged mare [1] ( lat. Podisma pedestris ) is the orthopteran insect of the subfamily Catantopinae .

Description
The body length of the male is 17-19 mm, the females - 24-30 mm. The body is brownish-red, with a yellow and black pattern of spots and stripes [2] [3] . The wings are reduced to small brown plates. The forehead and lower side of the body are yellow.
Spread
Russia (European part, southern Siberia, Buryatia, Chita region), Europe , Northern and Western Kazakhstan , Northern Mongolia .
Lifestyle
It feeds on green parts of grassy plants [4] . The female lays eggs in the soil. Ooteka length from 9 to 16 mm, thickness 4.5 - 6.5 mm, contains from 11 to 32 eggs. Egg with a length of 4.5 to 5.1 mm and a thickness of 1.2 - 1.5 mm [2] .
