Kolaka is a small city in Indonesia , in the province of Southeast Sulawesi , where it is the center of the same-named district . Population - 29,661 (2011) [2] .

Geography and climate
Kolaka is located in the southeast of the island of Sulawesi , on the shores of Bone Bay . The city is a seaport. The distance to the capital of the country, Jakarta , is 1650 km (in a straight line) [3] .
The climate in the city is very warm and humid throughout the year.

Economics
In the vicinity of the city, coconuts , coffee , cloves , cashews and chocolate are grown [2] . The most common crops are rice , corn , cassava and legumes . Cocoa harvest is more than 300 tons / year. Cattle , horses , chickens and ducks are also bred [2] .
According to the data from the beginning of the 2010s, the total volume of fish catch was 464 tons / year, of which almost 404 tons / year came from sea fishing [2] .
Incidents
Near Kolaka in 2011, a ferry sank with more than a hundred passengers on board, most of them were saved [4] .
