Biography
The son of the aide-adjutant Catherine II, vice colonel of the Grenadier Life Guards regiment Semyon Fedorovich Uvarov and his wife Daria Ivanovna Golovina. Born in St. Petersburg after the death of his father, was baptized on September 2, 1788 in the Ascension Church , the godson of Prince A. B. Kurakini and Countess P. V. Musina-Pushkina .
In 1798, he was enrolled in the College of Foreign Affairs as a cadet , in 1799, “he was turned off during the reform during the reform”, and on June 7, 1801, according to the all-submitted report of Chancellor Count A. R. Vorontsov , because he “distinguishes himself with particular successes in upbringing and teaching, ”was again determined to the College by the same rank. In 1803 he was made a translator, in 1804 he was appointed ensign to the Life Grenadier Regiment. In 1812, Lieutenant Colonel Uvarov was the commander of the chef squadron of Major General Kretov of the Yekaterinoslav cuirassier regiment.
Under Borodin, on August 26, 1812, he handed over the squadron to Lieutenant Khomyakov and replaced the wounded commander of the regiment, but was wounded himself and transferred the command of the regiment to Lieutenant Khomyakov. For the battle of Borodin promoted to colonel. On October 6, 1817, he was promoted to major general, with the appointment of the 1st Brigade of the 2nd Cuirassier Division as commander, in 1825 he was appointed to be under the division head of the 2nd Cuirassier Division, and on January 7, 1827 he was dismissed from service due to domestic circumstances, with uniform.
He participated in the battle of Austerlitz , for which he received the Order of St. Anne of the 3rd degree "For Courage", and in the campaign of 1807. In the battle of Smolensk on August 4, 5 and 6, in August 1812, in the battle of Borodino on August 24 and 26, where he was wounded in the right hand with a spike and got a “card concussion” in his right hand, he was promoted to colonel and appointed commander of the Yekaterinoslav regiment. In matters under Small Yaroslavts on October 11 and 12, in the city of Vyazma on October 22, near Krasnoye on November 5 and 6, for which he received the Order of St. Vladimir of the 4th degree with a bow. In 1813, Uvarov was near Lutsen on April 20, near Bautzen on May 7 and 8. In 1814 - at Brienne on January 20, at Bar-sur-Oba on February 15, near Troyes on February 19, at the village of Labrüssel, where "for the repulsion of the enemy’s guns" he was awarded the Order of St. George of the 4th class, at the village of Arsi on March 9, in the battle of Ferschampenoise on March 13 and the capture of Paris on March 18, for which he received the Order of St. Vladimir of the 3rd degree. Uvarov also had the Prussian Order of Merit . Uvarov was considered an excellent regimental commander.
Uvarov had 1763 souls in the village of Holmu of the Belsky district, Smolensk province , where, upon retirement, he lived without a break, engaged in gardening. He was vice president of the Russian Society of Gardening Lovers [2] . He died in June 1845, single.
