Player Career
He played the position of a heavy forward . He studied at the University of Michigan , in 1990 he was selected for the NBA draft by the 16th number by the Milwaukee Bucks team, however, without playing a single match for it, he was traded to Denver Nuggets . He later played for the New Jersey Nets , Detroit Pistons , Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers . In total, the NBA spent 11 seasons. At the same time, his uncle, John Long , who became the NBA champion in the Pistons and cousin Grant Long , who also played in Detroit, played in association with him. In 1989, Mills became the champion of the National University Sports Association (NCAA) . In total, a career in the NBA played 678 games in which he scored 7175 points (an average of 10.6 per game), made 3,680 rebounds , 891 assists , 397 interceptions and 296 blockshots .
Coaching career
After completing his professional career as a player, in 2006 , Mills was the head coach of the Macomb County Mustangs from Center-Line ( Michigan ), playing in the International Basketball League (IBL) . Currently resides in Michigan and is an active participant in amateur drag racing competitions .
