Karl Friedrich August Mecklenburg-Strelitz ( German: Karl Friedrich August zu Mecklenburg-Strelitz ; 1785 - 1837 ) - Duke of Mecklenburg, member of the ruling house of Mecklenburg-Strelitz , Prussian general of infantry (according to other sources, Major General of the Austrian service), member of the coalition wars with Napoleon in the years 1805-1815.

Biography
Karl Friedrich August Mecklenburg-Strelitzky was born on November 30, 1785 in the city of Hanover to the family of Duke Charles II and his second wife Charlotte of Hesse-Darmstadt .
In 1804 he entered the Prussian service , participated in the campaigns of 1806 and 1813-1815 . September 25, 1818 was awarded the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called [4] .
Since 1827, Duke Karl Friedrich August Mecklenburg-Strelitzky has served as chairman of the State Council of Prussia with the right to participate in meetings of the Privy Council of Ministers. Karl Friedrich August was a staunch absolutist and in this sense had a great influence on the course of affairs in Prussia , especially after the death of Hardenberg [5] .
Engaged in writing, published with his preface " Dienstvorschriften des Gardekorps "; under the pseudonym Weisshaupt wrote the comedy Die Isolierten and the tragedy Der ewige Jude [5] .
Duke Karl Friedrich August Mecklenburg-Strelitzky was not married, died September 21, 1837 in the capital of Germany and was buried in Mirow .
Awards
- Awarded the Order of St. George, 3rd degree (No. 348, December 10, 1813 ).
- Also awarded the Prussian Iron Cross 1st Class ( August 31, 1813 ), the Order of Merit ( Pour le Mérite , October 9, 1813 ) and the Black Eagle ( July 20, 1810 ).
