Patrick Conley ( born Patrick Conley ; 1965 ) is a German-American journalist and historian specializing in media history.

Biography
He studied philosophy with Jürgen Habermas and Alfred Schmidt in Frankfurt . From 1990 to 1995, he worked, at first in parallel with his studies, as an independent journalist in Hessian radio , where, among other things, he was the host of the Chippie computer program [1] .
Since 1995 works as a freelance writer in Berlin ; considered an expert on the history of propaganda. In 2010, under the guidance of Swiss scientist Jürg Heusermann, who is involved in media problems, he defended his thesis at the University of Tübingen .
Earlier at the University of Berlin. For political reasons, Humboldt rejected his dissertation on the history of radio GDR . His critics include, in particular, Ernst Schumacher . The patriarch of East German theater science accused Patrick Conlia of "delimiting the GDR in all areas" [2] . Writer Detlef Berenzen said: “The work of Conlia Der parteiliche Journalist (Party Journalist) allows you to once again feel the breath of dictatorship. However, it is relevant and continues to cause controversy. And this is no coincidence. Reading this book opens up ideas that sound very relevant ” [3] .
