Aphis

Aphis (lat.) - The largest aphid genus from the subfamily Aphidinae . Over 500 species. They are found everywhere, but mainly in the Northern Hemisphere. Among them, crop pests such as melon aphid or cotton aphid ( Aphis gossypii ), gooseberry aphid ( Aphis grossulariae ), beet aphid ( Aphis fabae ), apple aphid ( Aphis pomi ) [1] .

Description

Small insects, length 0.8-3.1 mm. Associated with herbaceous plants and shrubs. The diploid set of chromosomes is 2n = 8 [1] [2] .
