Abdu-l-Latif ibn Abdu-r-Rahman Al ash-Sheikh ( Arabic عبد اللطيف بن عبد الرحمن بن حسن آل الشيخ ; Ed Diriya , ca. 1810 - 1876 ) - an Islamic theologian from the family Abdurrahman ibn Hassan and great-great-grandson of Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab .

Biography

Abdul-Latif ibn Abdurrahman was born in 1225 Hijri ( 1810 ) in the capital of the first Saudi state, the city of Al-Diriya. When he was eight years old, the Osman-Saudi war began , in which the Saudis were defeated. Like many other representatives of the Al Saud and Al Sheikh families, Abdul-Latif, together with his father, Abdurrahman ibn Hassan , was sent into exile in Egypt . In Egypt, he spent 31 years, during which he studied with many Nedzhi and Egyptian ulama of that time. Among them: his father, Abdurrahman ibn Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab , Muhammad ibn Mahmoud ibn Muhammad al-Jazairi al-Hanafi, Ibrahim al-Badzhuri (sheikh al-Azhara ), Mustafa al-al-Azhari, a lot others.

Father Abdul-Latif managed to return to Nedzh in 1826 (1241), and he returned to his homeland only in 1848 (1264). After months in Riyadh , Abdul-Latif ibn Abdurrahman leaves for Al-Hasa to spread the ideas of Salafism and stays there for two years. Then he returns to Riyadh and together with his father helps King Faisal ibn Turki in establishing Saudi power, participates with him in several military campaigns.

Abdul-Latif ibn Abdurrahman died on the 14th day of the month of zu-l-kada of the 1293 Hijrah (approx. November 30, 1876 ).
