The Purpose of Science
Tolstoy studies the content, origins and influence of Tolstoy’s personality and work in the 19-20 centuries and in the modern world, seeks to determine its place in culture and society. This work is being carried out all over the world by the efforts of various specialists: biographers , textologists , interpretive researchers, philologists and others.
History of Fat Science
An important factor in the formation of Tolstoy became the possibility of publishing and studying Tolstoy's works after 1917. The Soviet government supported the idea of preserving Yasnaya Polyana and other places associated with the name and work of the world famous writer, expressed the intention of publishing and studying its literary heritage without any restrictions. The full 90-volume collected works of Tolstoy was published in 1928-1958. The series “Materials for the Biography of L. N. Tolstoy” [1] was started by N. N. Gusev, Tolstoy’s Secretary (Tolstoy-textologist), continued the publication of L. D. Gromov-Opulskaya .
Tasks of Modern Thick Science
In modern Russia, thicket science is one of the most developed areas in the field of literary studies. Since 1917, a bibliography of works dedicated to Leo Tolstoy has been published to this day. The aim of this work is the creation of a scientifically-objective biography of Tolstoy, in contrast to the prevailing apologetic nature of thicket science. However, there remains a need for a verified “Chronicle of Life and Creativity”, the theme “Tolstoy and Pushkin ” needs to be deeply disclosed. The topic of Tolstoy’s spiritual path is of great complexity, due to the difficulty of combining the efforts of philologists and theologians . Extensively published articles and literature on Tolstoy's views on spirituality , religiosity , Christianity are often subjective and superficial.
