History
The founders of the team Ekaterina Shilonosova and Yevgeny Gorbunov met in Kazan. In 2011, Catherine moved to Moscow , where a year later the group was created [2] . The debut mini-album Freaky Man was recorded by Ekaterina and Eugene together and posted on the network in June 2012 [6] . In October, a video was presented on the title track “Freaky Man” [7] , starring the artist Alexander Krivoshapkin [8] . The full composition of Glintshake was also assembled in October [6] : bass guitarist Dmitry Midborn and drummer Vasily Nikitin joined the group. Each of the participants already had experience in musical projects: Shilonosov - at MAKE and NV, Gorbunov - at NRKTK and Stoned Boys, Midborn - at Tesla Boy and On-The-Go , Nikitin - at Foojitsu.
The first concert of the group took place in Kazan on November 17, 2012 [9] . In March 2013, Glintshake released their second mini-album, Evil [3] , after which they were invited to several major Moscow festivals at once: Bosco Fresh Fest, Afishi Picnic , and Faces & Laces [10] . In August, the band performed at the opening of the band The Smashing Pumpkins on the Stadium Live stage in Moscow [11] . In the fall, Glintshake left Dmitry Midbourne, and Yegor Sargsyan from Trud [12] took the place of bassist, and early next year drummer Vasily Nikitin was replaced by Alexey Evlanov from The Twiggys [13] [14] .
In May 2014, the debut album Eyebones was released [15] .
The rock quartet Glintshake started with a few rustic and fast songs in the spirit of the razdolbaysky alternative of the nineties - on the new album the band played harder and more inventive, which is why it would be logical for them to compare it with Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine . Glintshake promise to arrange a "session of magic and hypnosis," which is very even possible to believe in thanks to their new songs. The current Glintshake is not going to spare the listener - they sound noisy, violently, but at the same time very beautiful.

At the same time, in May 2014, Glintshake released the video for the first Wiuwiuwiu song from the album, which was filmed on the iPhone and edited in one day [17] , and on November 10, the mini-album Nano Banana , recorded in a new label near Moscow studio Xuman Records [18] . According to Yevgeny Gorbunov, the mini-album became “free in terms of style,” thanks to the fact that the group began to leave the influence of the music of the 90s [19] . At the end of 2014 for the New Year special project “Posters” Glintshake recorded the song “New Year of Hate” [20] .
At the beginning of 2015, the band re-recorded the song “Mu” from the Nano Banana mini-album, performing it in Russian. According to Shilonosova, the original English text intersects little with the Russian, because the song was not translated, but was written anew, however its meaning and general atmosphere did not change [21] . The re-recorded “Mu” together with “New Year of Hate” were included in the deluxe version of EP Nano Banana , released in June [22] . In September, a video for the song “Wrong Anthem”, created by illustrator Alexander Kostenko, was published [23] .
At the same time, the group announced that “the good old Glintsheika“ comes to an end and begins a new and evil one ” [24] . In an interview with the publishing company FURFUR, Yevgeny Gorbunov said that the group decided to leave the influence of alternative rock from the 1990s, stop singing in English and make a full turn in the work. “... We have a lot of our own here:“ Sounds of Mu ”, Russian avant-garde ” [19] . In October, Glintshake released their first song, Fifteen-Five, with a future album and a video for it [25] , and next month, the second song, Shadows [26] .
The Russian-language album OESCH MAGZIU was released in September 2016 and received high marks from critics. Boris Barabanov (“ Kommersant ”), noting that sources of influence for “GSh” should be sought among the “best Moscow counter-culturalists of the 1980s” (“ Sounds of Mu ”, “ Polite Refusal ” and “ Center ”), he concluded that by renaming himself, “The musicians did everything so that the masses simply did not notice them,” when the album “had bright prospects” [27] . Simon Reynolds , reviewing the performance of the General Staff at Tallinn Music Week, listed The Fire Engines , Big Flame and Stump [28] in the list of possible influences of the group.
On January 25, 2018, a recording of the band’s performance was published on the KEXP music channel.
