Memorial prayer - in the Orthodox Church, a prayer recited by a priest at the very end of the liturgy , before the “ release ”.
It is called Zamvonna because for its utterance the priest leaves the predaltar elevation, the extreme ledge of which is called the pulpit . According to the existing custom, however, the priest does not descend from the pulpit to read the ring-bellied prayer, but stops at it, since from here the prayer is audible enough for everyone present in the church .
The liturgy of St. Basil the Great and the liturgy of John Chrysostom read:
- “Bless the blessings of Thou, Lord, and sanctify the hope of Thy, save Thy people and blessings of Thy mercy, fill Your Church, bless Thy blessed God, Thou shalt deliver unto you Peace be given to Thy God, Thy churches, priest, host, and all Thy people.
- It is like all good giving, and every gift made from above, descending from you the Father of the lights, and to you the glory, and thanks, and the worship of the Father, and the Son, and the old, that is, nowadays.
At the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts :
- “Lord of the Almighty, I also made the whole creature of Wisdom, and with your inescapable Thought and much Grace, introduced us to the holy days, to the Purification of our souls and body, to abstention. Others like the tablets handed chetyredesyatmi of Days, divinely established Pisman, Thy saint Moiseovi, podazhd us, Blessed is he fought the good podvizatisya, during Lent sovershiti, inseparably faith to comply with, the heads of invisible serpents sokrushiti winner will manifest as sin, and without condemnation achieved poklonitisya and Holy Sunday.
- “Blessed and glorified are the honorable and great-dumb names of Yours, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and forever.”

The famous Byzantine liturgist Nikolai Andidsky of the XI century , in his work “Proteoria”, to the question of the laity about the content of the secret prayers of the Liturgy, offers:
the unexpected answer: the only prayer of the Liturgy uttered aloud - the abyssal one - contains everything that is necessary for the laity, being a kind of “summary” of all priestly prayers: “Therefore, the divine fathers drew the abusive prayer , as if to shorten everything that was requested during Liturgy.
