History
Apostolic nunciature in the Netherlands was preceded by apostolic nunciature in Flanders . The latter was established in 1593 , during the pontificate of Pope Clement VIII . The appointment of the apostolic nuncio was later discontinued in 1634 due to the diplomatic crisis that occurred when the apostolic nuncio was Fabio de Lagonissa, and his successor, Lelio Falconieri, was unable to take possession of the nuncio, and that since then, internations did not go there until 1725 years when Mary Elizabeth of Austria inherited Eugene of Savoy, as governor of the Austrian Netherlands .
In 1829, Pope Pius VIII established the Apostolic Internationale in the Netherlands.
The Apostolic Nunciature in the Netherlands was established on July 22, 1967 , the log of Quantum utilitatis by Pope Paul VI .
