Ron ( born ron ) is one of the groups of the West Chad branch of the Chadian family [2] . The main distribution area is Plateau State in central Nigeria . The number of native speakers is about 184.5 thousand people [1] . The group includes Ron (Chala, Challa) , Sha , Cooler , Fier , Tambas and a number of other languages and dialects [3] [4] [5] . In a number of classifications, in the ron group, two subgroups are distinguished - ron and fiere proper [1] [6] .
The majority of languages are written in writing, the writing language of the Ron language (the most widely spoken group of speakers among other languages) was developed in 1999 on the basis of Latin script [7] .

Area and number
The region of the Ron languages covers the adjacent territories of the western part of the Plateau state and the eastern part of the Nasarava state in central Nigeria - the mountainous areas of the Jos Plateau [9] [10] .
Linguistic characteristics
Ron languages are characterized by the following language features [2] :
- The opposition of vowels in short / long.
- The presence of implosive and prenazalizovannyh consonants .
- The presence of one-hit and multi-hit phonemes / r /.
