Biography

Fyodor Kleybus was born on April 26, 1918 in the village of Zheltoye (now - Slavianoserbsky district of the Luhansk region of Ukraine ). After graduating from eight grades of the school, he worked as a car inspector. In November 1939, Kleibus was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . Since June 1941 - on the fronts of World War II. In 1942, Kleibus graduated from the Rostov Military-Political School, in December 1943 - courses at the Dnepropetrovsk Artillery School. He took part in the battles on the North-Western , Kalinin , 2nd Baltic , 1st and 4th Ukrainian fronts, was wounded three times. By January 1945, Senior Lieutenant Fyodor Kleibus commanded the battery of the 171st Fighter-Antitank Artillery Regiment of the 18th Fighter-Antitank Artillery Brigade of the 22nd Army of the 2nd Baltic Front. He participated in battles in the territory of the Latvian SSR [1] .

On January 1, 1945, during a battle in the area of ​​the village of Kumbri in the Tukum district, Kleybus replaced the dead gunner and personally destroyed 2 German tanks and several dozen enemy soldiers and officers. When almost all the shells were used up, Kleibus fired artillery fire on himself, which allowed him to maintain his position until the main forces arrived [1] .

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 29, 1945, for "exemplary execution of the combat missions of the command at the front of the fight against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown" Captain Fyodor Kleibus was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal " Under the number 3139 [1] .

In 1946, Captain Clibus was sacked. He lived in the village of Rodakovo, Lugansk region, worked as deputy head of the carriage department of the Voroshilovgrad branch of the Donetsk railway . He died on December 7, 1993 [1] .

He was also awarded the orders of Alexander Nevsky , World War 1 degree, Red Star , a number of medals [1] .
