Fereydunshekhr [1] ( pers. فریدونشهر , cargo. ფერეიდუნშაჰრი ) is a city in central Iran , in the province of Isfahan . The administrative center of the same name shakhrestan .

Geography
The city is located in the western part of Isfahan, in the highlands of central Zagros , at an altitude of 2490 meters above sea level [2] . Fereydunshahr is located approximately 135 kilometers west-north-west (WNW) from Isfahan , the provincial capital, and 318 kilometers south-west (SSW) from Tehran , the country's capital.
Population
According to the census, in 2006 the population of the city was 13,475 people [3] . The city is home to one of the largest ethnic Iranian communities in Iran, the Fereydans , resettled in Persia during the reign of Shah Abbas I [4] .
Transport
The nearest airport is Eliguders , 33 km north of Fereidunshehr [2] .
