History

Novonikolaevsky Uyezd was formed as part of the Tomsk province by the decree of the Provisional Government of June 17 (30), 1917, when the Tomsk province was divided into Tomsk and Altai (with a center in the city of Barnaul) [3] . According to the specified document, the county was named Novo-Nikolaevsky . With the establishment of Soviet power in Siberia , the name and name of the Novonikolaevsky Uyezd [4] (sometimes the Novo-Nikolayevsky Uyezd [5] ) was used in documents and printed publications of the Sibrevkom. However, legal acts on renaming the Novo-Nikolaevsky district to Novonikolayevsky district were not found.

On February 13, 1921, the Novonikolaevsky and Kain districts of the Tomsk province were transferred to the newly created Novonikolaevsky province [2] . At the same time, 14 volosts from Novonikolayevsky Uyezd were transferred to the new Kargat Uyezd , and 5 to the new Cherepanovsky Uyezd .

In 1925, the Novonikolayevsky district was abolished, and its territory was transferred to the Novonikolayevsky district of the Siberian Territory [6] .
