Dark child

Orphan Black is a Canadian science fiction television series starring Tatyana Maslani , who identifies several of them as clones. In the center of the plot is Sarah Manning, who takes on the identity of her clone, detective Beth Childs, witnessing her suicide. Other central heroines are quiet housewife Alison Hendricks, graduate student in genetics Kosima Nihaus, an immigrant from Ukraine, a fanatical killer Helen, and finally Rachel Duncan, head of the Institute for Clone Research. All these and other roles are performed by Tatyana Maslani. The series raises questions about the moral and ethical consequences of human cloning. The series premiered at the WonderCon Festival in Anaheim , California on March 29, 2013. [1] The television premiere of the first season, consisting of ten episodes, took place on March 30, 2013.

Since its launch, the series has attracted the attention of critics who praised both the first and second seasons [2] [3] . Tatyana Maslani received universal praise from critics who were perplexed in 2013 that she was not nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Actress in a drama television series at the 65th awards ceremony [4] [5] , while winning Association awards television critics for personal achievements in drama; and the selection of television critics for best actress in a drama series . In 2014, she was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a television series - Drama [6] . In 2014, the series won the Peabody Award [7] . In 2016, the leading actor Tatyana Maslani won the Emmy Award in the nomination “Best Actress in a Drama TV Series” .

On May 7, 2015, the series was extended for the fourth season [8] , which started on April 14, 2016. On June 16, 2016, the series was extended to the last fifth season [9] .

Content

Story

Sarah Manning becomes a witness to suicide, after which she arrogates to herself the identity of the deceased woman, posing as herself, in the hope of clearing her bank account and thereby solving all her problems. However, these events lead Sarah to even greater problems, the first of which is that the dead woman and Sarah are incredibly similar to each other.

On May 2, 2013, BBC America’s channel management extended the series for a second season, which premiered on April 19, 2014. [11] The third season was ordered on July 9, 2014, which premiered on April 18, 2015.
