Club career

Jozsef Varga is a pupil of the Debrecen football school. Since 2007, he began to be attracted to the main team, and on September 12, 2008 he made his debut in the Hungarian Championship in the game against Haladash (2: 2). Having played in 21 matches following the 2008/09 season, Jozsef was recognized as the "Best Young Player of the Championship".

In the 2009/10 season, Varga opened the scoring for his goals for Debrecen: in the 1st qualifying round of the Champions League, the midfielder hit the gate of the Swedish Kalmar twice, and in the 3rd round he scored in a meeting with Levski and helped Debrecen go to the group stage.

January 30, 2013 Varga was rented until the end of the season by the Bundesliga club Greuther Furth [2] . On February 1, Jozsef made his debut with the German team in a winning match against Schalke 04 (2: 1).

On June 25, 2013, Varga, on a one-year leasehold basis, transferred to the Middlesbrough Club of the English Championship [3] . He made his debut on August 3 in a home game against Leicester City (1: 2) [4] .

International Career

Jozsef Varga was called up to the youth team of Hungary , and since 2009 he has regularly been a member of the first team . He made his debut on October 10, 2009 in an away match against Portugal (0: 3).
