Sylvester Grot ( German: Sylvester Groth ; born March 31, 1958 , Jericho , East Germany ) is a German actor who debuted in 1980. Nominee for the highest German film award Deutscher Filmpreis for the role of Joseph Goebbels in the film " My Fuhrer, or The Most True Truth About Adolf Hitler " [1] .

Biography
The grotto was born in Jericho . He studied at the School of Dramatic Art in Berlin. In 1980, the Grotto first appeared on the screen, starring in the television movie "My Father's Tram." In 1983, the actor played the role of the German soldier Mark Niebuhr in the film . For this work, he received an award in the nomination "Best Young Actor" at the Eberswald Film Festival. After “Stop on the Road”, several television films followed with his participation, as well as the fantastic film [2] .
In 1993, the Grotto played in the film " Stalingrad ", which tells the story of German soldiers in Stalingrad [2] . Subsequently, he mainly participated in television series and television films. In 2007, he embodied the image of the Third Reich Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels in the comedy “ My Fuhrer, or The Most True Truth About Adolf Hitler .” This role brought the actor a nomination for the highest film award in Germany Deutscher Filmpreis [1] .
In 2009, the actor was again approved for the role of Goebbels, already in the film "Inglourious Basterds" by American director Quentin Tarantino . Thanks to his participation in Inglourious Basterds, the Grotto gained fame in English-speaking countries [1] [2] . The grotto unsuccessfully auditioned for the role in the film " Artist " [1] . In 2011-2012, he appeared in supporting roles in the film " Tom Sawyer ", a biographical television movie about Beat Uz and the film . In 2013, the actor starred in the controversial television movie " Our Mothers, Our Fathers " [3] .
