History
Throughout its existence, the settlement had several names: the village of Tereben , the village of Sloboda and, finally, the village of Truzhenik. The village is directly connected with the Nikolo-Terebenskaya desert . According to scribe books , the place where the settlement was located in 1492 belonged to the landowner Mikhail Obutkov.
In the second half of the XIX - early XX centuries, this settlement belonged to the Stolopovsky volost of the Vyshnevolotsky district of the Tver province . In 1859, in the village of Sloboda there were 19 yards, 170 inhabitants, in 1886 - 48 yards, 217 inhabitants, there was a small shop, crafts: blacksmiths, painters, tailors. [1] . According to the 1920 census - 54 yards, 315 residents.
In the middle of the XIX century, it belonged to the Spas-Zaberezhsky parish of the Stolopovsky volost of Vyshnevolotsky district.
In the 1930s and 1940s, the village was part of the Svetly Put collective farm , and after 1946, the Toiler farm .
