Popstrangers is a New Zealand rock band formed in Auckland in 2009. It consists of Joel Flyger (Joel Flyger), Adam Page (Adam Page) and David Larson (David Larson). Their debut studio album Antipodes was released by Carpark Records in 2013.

History
Vocalist and guitarist Joel Fliger was familiar with bassist Adam Page on the music scene of Hamilton , where both musicians come from [1] . After moving to Auckland, they met through friends Drummer Elliott Rawson (Elliott Rawson) and began rehearsing in September 2008 [1] . In April 2009, the first concert of Popstrangers took place [1] , and in the same year the self - titled mini-album of the group [2] was released . The next Minion, Happy Accidents (2010), they recorded with the new drummer Jimmy Mac (Jimmy Mac), which was subsequently replaced by David Larson [2] . Popstrangers toured extensively in New Zealand and Australia, performing at the opening act of MGMT and Crocodiles , and became participants in festivals, including the New York CMJ [3] . In 2011, the group was nominated for the New Zealand Music Awards in the Critics' Choice category [2] .
To release their debut LP, Popstrangers signed with Carpark Records [4] . The first released recording from it - the song “Heaven” was performed in the radio program of Zane Lowe on “ BBC ” [5] . The Antipodes album was released on February 26, 2013 [4] .
