Asian Women's Football Cup (formerly known as the AFC Women's Championship ) is a competition among women's national teams belonging to the Asian Football Confederation . The tournament is the main competition among women on the continent. At the moment, 18 tournaments have been held. At the last championship, held in 2014 in Vietnam, Japan won. The tournament is also a qualifying competition for the Women's World Cup .

The tournament was organized by the Asian Women's Football Confederation (ALFC). The first cup was held in 1975, and is usually held every two years, with the exception of the period of the 1980s, when competitions were held every three years. ALFC was originally a separate organization, but since 1986 competitions have been held under the auspices of the AFC .
The Cup was originally held among countries in the Asia-Pacific region. The record number of victories in the tournament was set by the Chinese Women's Football Team (7 times in a row). Two more teams: Chinese Taipei and North Korea won the tournament 3 times.
The next tournament will be held in 2018 in Jordan , and will also qualify for the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup .
