Biography
Born on September 17, 1969 in the village of Shushenskoye . In the seventh grade I went to art school [1] . From 1985 to 1991 he studied at the Krasnoyarsk Art College. V.I. Surikov [1] , but never finished it.
In 2001, he created together with Alexander Levchenko the art association "ReasDaty" [2] .
By May 9, 2010 in Krasnoyarsk, the artist sets up a 5-meter sculpture "Motherland" [3]
In 2013, a personal exhibition of Vasily Slonov “Welcome! Sochi 2014 ”in the framework of the White Nights festival put an end to a five-year cultural project in Perm and served as the reason for the dismissal of gallery owner Marat Gelman as director of the Perm State Museum of Modern Art PERMM [4] [5]
On June 8, 2013, in the framework of the project “The cultural capital of Krasnoyarsk”, in the city of Bogotol, the artist presents the “Carpet-Steam Locomotive” art object [6] .
July 26, 2014 in the city of Borodino, Vasily Slonov erects a monument "Coal snowflake" [7] .
On September 28, 2015, artist V.P. Slonov presented Krasnoyarsk with a cotton sculpture called “The Heart of the Motherland”, which was installed on the square in front of the Krasnoyarsk Museum Center . Elephant himself said that he called his creation so because it is so big and warm and " predictably blackened from sweat and blood of already gone generations ." [eight]
Collaborates with the Moscow gallery 11.12 GALLERY , located on the territory of the Center for Contemporary Art Winzavod since 2011. [9]
He is currently married, has two children.
