It dates back to the beginning of the 16th century. The Rudnev family was introduced in the 6th, 2nd and 1st part of the genealogy books of the provinces: Ryazan [1] , Tver, Tula and Pskov.
There are 14 more genera of the Rudnevs, of later origin. One of them is the offspring of Fedot Rudnev , (d. 14.10.1753), from the noblemen of the Tula district , a grenadier life company, a participant in the 1741 palace coup . Highest confirmed in the hereditary noble dignity of the All-Russian Empire on December 31, 1741. He was granted a diploma for noble dignity on November 25, 1775.

Coat of arms of Vsevolod Rudnev, a retired rear admiral: in a scarlet shield a golden sea lion emerges from a silver wave-like tip with scarlet eyes and tongue, holding a silver sword with a golden hilt in his right paw. In the silver chapter of the shield is the lapel Andreevsky cross.
The shield is crowned with a noble crowned helmet. Crest: five ostrich feathers: on the middle scarlet is a silver cross with wide ends, the extreme ones are scarlet, the second and fourth are gold, Namet : scarlet with gold. Shield holders : two black eagles with scarlet eyes, golden beaks and paws [2] .

Coat of arms of the grenadier’s label company Fedot Rudnev: a shield is divided into two parts, the right side of which shows a golden rafter in the black box with three burning grenades in natural color overlaid between the three silver stars, and two golden arrows pointing up in the left green box , on the sides along the silver crescent horns up.
Above the shield, there is a slightly turned steel nobleman's helmet open to the right side, which is adorned with the usual Life Company grenadier hat with scarlet and white ostrich feathers and two eagle wings spread out on both sides, on which three silver stars are repeated. On the sides of the shield a helmet helmet is omitted: green and black colors, silver on the right, gold on the left, with the caption attached below the shield: "For loyalty and jealousy."
