Delicious actinidia - a large vine or climbing bush , reaching 9 m in height. The leaves are falling, alternating, on long petioles , 7.5-12.5 cm long, ovoid or almost rounded in shape, with a notched base. Young leaves are covered with reddish pubescence, adult leaves on the upper side are bright green, on the lower side are pale, with noticeable veins.
The flowers are fragrant, usually bisexual, less often unisexual, appear in the axils of the leaves singly or in groups of three. Corolla first white, then, when the petals open, yellowing. Stamens are numerous in all flowers, but in female flowers they are sterile.
Fruits are oblong-ovate to almost spherical, usually 5-6 cm in diameter, brown, densely hairy. The pulp is green, less often yellow, white or brownish. Seeds are small, black or dark purple.
