History
Nizhny Turovo is an old Russian village. The history of the settlement begins in 1665. In 1928, the village was part of the Nizhnedevitsky district of the Voronezh province. The village arose near a small fishing line of Turov and received a name from it. And the name of the fishing line itself (remake) reminds us that in ancient times there were wild bulls - tours. About tours there are entries in the documents of the period of Kievan Rus, in the "Word on Igor's Regiment" (1187). Later, this animal was exterminated. In Nizhny Turovo there is a temple of the beginning of the 20th century, founded in 1904. The temple was consecrated in honor of St. Alexei of Moscow and All Russia, the heavenly patron of the newborn, Tsarevich Alexei Nikolayevich Romanov. During the years of Soviet power and World War II it was closed. In 1960 it was completely destroyed, a warehouse was in place. Today the temple is built and services are held there. The temple was finally restored in 2004. Today the reconstruction and construction of the chapel is underway. In the church of St. Alexis, the ancient icon of the Mother of God is also preserved. After 1917 with. Turovo was divided into two villages: with. Upper Turovo and with. Nizhny Turovo. In April 1648, the Decree on the transfer of the village of Bely Kolodez of the Voronezh district to Sokolsky district. It lists all the camps of the Voronezh district. In the Borschevsky camp: with.
