Anjou dialect ( fr. Angevin , self-name - angevin ) is one of the dialects that make up the northern French language range oil [1] . Distributed in northwestern France mainly in the historical region of Anjou . Along with the Gallo and the Manx dialect, it belongs to the western group of oil dialects (the western group of dialects of the French language ) [2] . Sometimes, dialects of Manx and Sart dialects are included in the Anjou dialect.

At present, the Anjou dialect is almost completely obsolete, in still existing dialects, the internal structure is highly eroded under the influence of the French literary language, while a number of Anjou dialect traits are used in the regional version of the French language of the Anjou region [2] . In Anjou dialect, there is prose and poetry created by such writers as Pierre Anjou , André Bruel , Antoine Charles , Emile Joulain , Marc Leclerc and others.
Distribution Area
The range of the Anjou dialect is located in the western part of the oil language range, its distribution area is flat areas in the Loire River basin in its middle course in the historical region of Anjou . According to the modern administrative-territorial division of France, the Angevin area covers the department of Maine and Loire and its neighboring regions of the Mayenne and Sarthe departments , as well as the eastern regions of the Atlantic Loire department of the Loire- Earth region and the western regions of the Indre and Loire department of the Center region. The area of the Anjou dialect is bordered by the ranges of the oil dialect of the western group : in the north - the range of the Manx dialect , in the northeast - the range of the Sartian dialect, in the west - the range of the Gallo dialect. In the east, the Anjou dialect adjoins the Touraine dialect of the central group of oil dialects, and in the south the Puatevsky dialect of the southwestern group of oil dialects [3] .
Dialect Features
The Anjou dialect shares a number of dialectal features inherent in the western northern French area. For example, in the place of Old French [ei] in Western dialects, vowels [e] or [ɛ] developed, while in the central and eastern dialects it is noted [wa]:

Actually Anjou dialect features include:
- The pronunciation of / a / at the end of words as a long à - [a:]: chênâ ( French literary. Chênaie ), hâ (literary haie ), etc.
- In a number of positions in place / a / is pronounced [o] or [ɛ]: ormouère (letter. Armoire ), chaircutier (letter. Charcutier ), etc.
- The vowel [ɛ] in some cases is pronounced [e]: méson (literary. Maison "house"), etc.
